In this project, my partner and I explored design ideation processes through disruptive innovation methods.  This project focused on systematic and logical ideation process. The outcome of this project was a design conjecture proposal
which was presented in summative presentation of the design process.
The project is centered the following challenge:
• Reimagine strategies for recommendations in university or Public
libraries

With our concept, "Don't Judge a Book by its Cover," we aimed to encourage local turnout within a given library system, more specifically to spread communal awareness of the Arts and Sciences Library at The Ohio State University to students who aren’t in an art or design major.  We sought to achieve this turnout by creating a sense of community and local pride through the implementation of our recommendation system that is made possible through community interest and involvement, and is able to represent an array of perspectives from students.

The process begins with librarian-recommended books which are affixed with modular blank sleeves.  After these books are read, the reader is tasked with generating their own title or cover page design that will be inserted into the sleeve.  Once returned to the library, these student-designed books will be put on display for others to check out.

All of this is done to change the way that books are traditionally recommended in libraries and relies on community participation to function.  "Don't Judge a Book by its Cover" encourages equality and self expression within the Ohio State community.
